Sockanosset Boys Training School
Cranston, RI

On Saturday, May 20, 2000, I extensively photographed the Sockanosset Boys Training School in Cranston, RI, a state-run juvenile prison constructed between 1866 and 1914. The campus is currently being razed to construct a shopping center. This site will document my experiences in the campus and provide the world with a glimpse of these 19th century landmarks even after they have vanished. I'll continue to add photos from that visit and will hopefully revisit the site soon for an update. For further information on the Training School, visit The Cranston Historic District Commission.
