Located in the historic York Theatre building in Elmhurst, IL, THSA is the only organization in the U.S. which exclusively records and preserves the rich architectural, cultural and social history of America's theatres. Through its archive and publications, THSA makes available information on more than 15,000 theatres, primarily in the United States, and encourages further research in these areas. The Society also operates the American Theatre Architecture Archive and the American Movie Palace Museum.
Cinema Treasures
Launched in December 2000, Cinema Treasures is a groundbreaking website devoted to movie theater preservation and awareness. Utilizing the community-building capabilities of the Internet, Cinema Treasures unites movie theater owners and enthusiasts in a common cause—to save the last remaining movie palaces across the country.

Six Corners Association
The Balaban and Katz Theater Corporation perfected the movie "palace"concept in Chicago, creating an extremely popular past time that contributed greatly to Chicago's cultural identity. The Balaban and Katz Historical Foundation's mission is to acquire, preserve and protect historical data and artifacts relating to the Balaban and Katz Theater Corporation. The foundation was created by Balaban and Katz family members and enthusists who have been interested in the company their whole lives.
The Six Corners Association exists to bring shoppers back to Six Corners. Some developers are recognizing the attractions of Six Corners. It is the goal of the Six Corners Association to bring local businesses together to build on this trend and improve business for everybody.
