Last week I saw a bus on Strickland ave. in Mill basin that said HAI on the side, It looked like a GMC RTS or an early TMC RTS. What is this bus used for? |

Hospital Audiences Inc. The bus is used to shuttle patients to and from nursing homes. |

As of two years ago, they had a fleet of two buses. 4219 (originally Omni*Bus 1) was donated new by GM in 1985. NYCTA donated 1848, a 1982 RTS, sometime before 2001; it was renumbered Omni*Bus 2, but has since reverted to 1848. Both of these had Keith Haring designs on the side (below the windows on 4219, and floor-to-ceiling on 1848).
This photo by David Greenberger indicates they have gotten at least one new bus; I don't know whether it's an additional coach or if it replaced one of the older buses. |
