(see previous postings/photo links)

Here's a circa-early 70's scene that is indeed quite nostalgic.

Here we see "Tee-Yay" green Fishbowl #8103 pulling out of the bus loop at the "Bee-Em-Tee" Rockaway Parkway station; note the prewar "Eye-En-Dee" cars now occupying the yard, where, just a few years earlier, the famed "Standards" once rested between runs.............

WHOA! Slow down fellas and let's concentrate on one story before completely going off topic.

Let's go back to the B-47 hitting parked cars. Just two threads and that's it? No photos or links to see the damage?

Next thread for whatever reason morphs into the Leyland double deckers and completely ignores the "title" story. No connection to the two.

If you can't stay on topic, please start a new posting with a new title.

frankie:

I am sorry that you are "taking issue" with this particular topic here, but,on this forum, many topics here do segue "off base" from time to time; as the B47 wreck happened in Brooklyn, I thought we should "go back in time" to see what the "B" routes were back in the old days.

That being said, the B47 accident did, of course, make many wonder at just WHY it happened in the first place.

My opinion is that, given the state of things these days in the city (and, also, the world) MTA drivers should be given alcohol/drug tests on a regular basis, as well as mental counseling, if needed.

Remember, also, we now live in a time where "road rage" is a part of everyday life, and, sadly, this can often turn deadly.

When discussing road rage, people seldom (if ever) think of city buses being involved.

We can only sincerely hope that what happened with the B47 the other day will not happen again; it is a miracle that no one was injured or, worse, killed.................

Saw dramatic (and scary!) footage on Eyewitness News earlier where a motorist blew through an intersection and caused a collision between two MTA buses in Midwood.

The errant auto ended up caught between the two buses; a lot of damage all around.

Too many people simply DO NOT belong behind the wheel of ANY motor vehicle (thankfully, no fatalities).......
