In this wartime comedy (filmed on location in Washington) there are several great scenes featuring buses and streetcars.......

The WHITE 798s seen in this film were still being used by CAPITAL TRANSIT well into the 1960s (these hard-working buses also lasted well into the 1960s up here in New Jersey)
Note, also, the streetcars; DC's conduit cars lasted until early 1962, when the remaining streetcar lines were converted to buses.
At the time of this 1943 film, the PCCs were the newest cars in CAPITAL TRANSIT's fleet.
Note the photo showing a center-entrance car; CAPITAL TRANSIT rostered a large fleet of these big cars (all built by BRILL), the earliest dating back to 1912/1913.
They were not retired until about 1950.
Note, also the "slant back" TWIN COACH; in my area, a few of the old independent companies were still running some of this type in the early/mid-1960s............
