GREAT photos!

I cannot believe that the last time I saw a Buffalo ANYWHERE was back in 1994; the last time I rode one was sometime in the mid-1980's.

Some of the NJ carriers originally purchased "Bison" for charter work, but soon were using them on the more lengthy suburban runs.

DE CAMP did this many years before, when they began purchasing their first 4104's......

Back in the late 1980's (no internet sources, then!) I was scratching my head as to why NJT was replacing Fishbowls with MCI's (and VOLVO artics, which I HATED!); to me, the big MCI's were HIGHWAY buses, and not "commuter" buses".

Your's Truly, of course, did not know, at the time, that neither the General Motors Fishbowls or Flex New Looks were still in production.

I also recall when NJT was purchasing large numbers of Flex Metros, which further decimated the number of Fishbowls in the fleet.

To this day, I still call NJT's MCI fleet "Big Bad Boys" and "Joisey Hounds".

When you looked at an MCI, then or now, it always had the unmistakable "highway coach" appearance; while a suburban Fishbowl, on the other hand, appeared simply as it was, a "commuter" bus.....

Here, as I just mentioned, the MCI indeed looks like a HIGHWAY coach, while the GM and Flex simply look like "suburban" buses

I was NEVER a fan of NJT paint, it looked HORRIBLE on the Fishbowls and the Flex New Looks; I am glad the Old Looks were all gone by that late date.......

Just outside the "Port-Of-Authority" in 1972, we see a PS/TNJ "Buffalo" signed for Cape May (note that cool MC-6 just visible!)

I've been told that the lot where the R&T buses are laying over in back of the church no longer exists, and has long since been built over.

(my Dad was baptized at that church in 1907!)

In this long-ago 1981 view, we see a PABT-bound RED & TAN Fishbowl, closely trailed by a "COACHWAYS" Buffalo; look up above on the westbound helix, and you'll glimpse an outbound "SHORT LINE" Buffalo as well......

Ahhh...Canadian Coachways...
I have already told my experience riding them back in September of 1970, on my long trip from New York City to Fairbanks, AK. Was on one of their "Thunderbird" PD-4107's from Edmonton to Dawson Creek, and then on a Western Flyer Canuck P-41 "bruck" from there to Fairbanks over the Alaska Highway. Later on, they were acquired by Greyhound Lines of Canada.
