Interior rear of the buses with Public Address speakers...

Photo 1... is the standard rear of a GM new look prior to speaker installation

Photo 2... retrofitted speaker located above the center of the rear windshield

...and finally, the front interior where the radio and PA controls where located...

Photo 1... interior of Flxible 5000 series... note the "nakedness" of the drivers area. No modesty panel behind the opefrator's seat.

By the way, the fare box is the original K-25 with coin return drawer in this case it is pushed in for "safety/security" reasons... some drivers would do this. No exact fare yet!

Photo 2... retrofitted Flxible with modesty panel topped off with a glass pane. Note speaker, radio control box behind fare box attached to the dash on the floor, hand-set right above it and box below the modesty panel containing radio components.

In all my bus riding days, (in the gold old days with old looks still on the road supplanted with new looks) I never saw a single driver use the PA or radio handset, however, it does look good for publicity...
