Before there was MaBSTOA, there was SURFACE..... Wink

Here, in 1956, we see a SURFACE Mack in front of the old West Shore Ferry Terminal* at the foot of W. 42nd St.

Interestingly, after ferry service to Weehawken ended in 1959, CIRCLE LINE "yachts" would be moored in one of the now-abandoned slips, until the old terminal burned down in 1962.....

When these photos were snapped, the old West Shore (NYCRR) Ferry had been gone 13 years; SURFACE, of course, was now MaBSTOA.......
