NEVER saw ANYTHING like THIS before!!!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Just a few long-shot guesses here, as to in what capacity this vehicle might have been used in:

Mobile canteen?

Mobile medical examination unit?

Some sort of "recruitment" vehicle (or driver's training unit?)

Just guessing, here.........

These vehicles were actually potable classrooms. At one time the NYC Board of Ed had to provide certain services to parochial school students, but due to separation of church and state, those teachers weren't allowed to enter the buildings. Therefore these portable classrooms were the solutions.

The students exited the school building and climbed into these vehiclse. Sound dumb that the kids had to put on their jackers and hats in cold weather to walk a few feet.

......many thanks for solving this mystery; I think we all were pretty much stumped.

Ahhhh, but political and religious views can, indeed, complicate many otherwise ordinary situations.........
