Not a bus photo, but, as this picture is so full of transit nostalgia from the 60's, I had to include it here..... Wink

*(this wonderfully nostalgic photo also recalls the oft-forgotten, long-defunct, short-lived rush hour "NX")

When this photo was taken in 1977, the remaining prewar IND cars were about to be retired; the timeless Fishbowls, at least, would (thankfully) still be with us for a good many years, yet (note, also, the long-disused B&QT streetcar line pole).......

W.B.:

Recall, also, the BMT's "BANKER'S SPECIALS" and "THEATRE SPECIALS" that lasted into the 1960's.

Yes, it was a totally different world, back then....

1968.

Note the rows of retired MACKS (some having already lost their windshield glass), in the background....... Sad

Fresh Pond & 68th Avenue, 1971.

W.B.:

Note that #8010's offside roller curtain is not "in sync" (or not even properly centered) with the front curtain......

Washington Plaza, 1972.

Like the Fishbowls themselves, the trains of R-27/30's and prewar IND cars have long since disappeared from the everyday "Noo Yawk" transit scene (note that, at the time of this photo, the trains were not yet covered in hideous, garish scrawlings, which some of questionable tastes might define as "art")....... Jay & Myrtle, 1972.

Note, here, unlike #8010 in a previous photo, #8074's offside roller curtain is correctly set...... Wink
