Following on your Spanish ads, I found this advertising the exact fare plan in Spanish.

Never saw either of these photos before; thanks for posting here! Very Happy

Sure wouldn't mind going back in time and riding that "Tee-Yay" green Fishbowl..... Wink

That front roll sign looks recycled from one of the 1960 set of bus orders.

...........as far as regarding the Spanish-language ad cards of years past, the one that most vividly stands out in my memory (on the subways, way back in the early/mid-1980's) was for "EL PICO" coffee; these I saw inside the cars, and would assume that these were also displayed inside the buses as well.

On bus exteriors, the "RADIO JiT" ads are still clearly recalled......

Click on the "Transportation" link on this page*......

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Harlem

Note that there are no less than 12 MTA bus routes through this area ("Spanish Harlem"); it would be interesting to learn the history of these routes.

The IRT Lexington Avenue line also serves the area, as do the "Q" trains (2nd Avenue Subway)

METRO-NORTH has a station at 125th, that once served both the NYC and the NH railroads.....

......regarding Hispanic Heritage Month, it would be most interesting, to say the very least, to the stories of older Hispanic drivers (NYCTA/MaBSTOA, etc.) who started driving buses in the 1950's and 1960's.

I am sure these old veterans (those still with us) would have a lot of interesting stories to tell, not just about the buses they drove, but the job itself, difficulties, etc........

.....heard Sunday there will be no Puerto Rican Day Parade (again) this year....... Crying or Very sad

Here's hoping that both the St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Puerto Rican Day Parade will return in 2022, with their wonderful music and colorful costumes, and that the MTA will, again, be re-routing buses....... Wink

It seemed a truism that, in Manhattan as of 1976, 'Tee-Yay' buses were among the oldest running - and MaBSTOA had the second-oldest, with the last of their 1963 bunch carrying on.

W.B.:

So far as the OLDEST buses running in Manhattan went, back then, the ancient MACKS run by "AVENUE B & E. BROADWAY" were the undisputed champs! Wink

The "Em-Tee-Yay" was indeed getting their money's worth out of the old "Tee-Yay" fleet..... Very Happy
