Even as I have been a super staunch fan of GM all my life I can't help but say that Cummins is the best engine ever made |

Cummins really stands alone these days as the preeminent diesel engine manufacturer.
I was at a truck show in Florham Park NJ a few years ago and a Pete salesman told me most of his customers were spec'ing their trucks with Cat engines (only 1 local fleet from Queens preferred Detroit 60's). Now Cat is out of the highway diesel engine business, and the truck OEMs all are pushing their own proprietary diesels: Paccar, Navistar, Daimler (Detroit) and Mack/Volvo.
Interesting to see that Cummins now is working with Nissan for Titan pickups, and they still offer Dodge Ram pickups with Cummins B engines. |
