NYCT has a very good historical bus collection, but for some reason they did not save any of their newest Fishbowls (i.e. T6H5309A/5310A).
Does anyone know why this is so?

I'm guessing that it's because those buses were "Blitzed" along with a handful of 5305As, and 5227 was picked to represent the whole group since it was the last one in service.

It's also curious that a 9000-series Flxible wasn't saved.

Good points. The TA definitely had plenty of 5309A/10As to choose from. Most of them didn't get the Blitz treatment. I think the TA only sent a total of 350 buses to Blitz. I definitely would've loved to have seen one of the 9000 series Flxibles saved. Those buses were awesome and it would've been even better had they saved one of the few 8-cylinder buses (9155-9164).

I agree with waynejay;those 1977 Flxibles were awesome, and the mentally retarded suits at the NYCTA should've saved at least one example.I will never, ever forget when I was 7 years of age,and first heard that new very disticntive whinning sound that the engine produced, and the air brakes. The two-tone blue scheme was very shinny also. Those buses looked spectacular when they were brand new.
