I enjoyed Members' Day at the trolley museum in East Haven, but I again learned that transit museums find it difficult to house everything they get. Here are some views of buses in the salty air:
Connecticut Company GM 1491:

Can anyone help identify these?

The green one is PTC 210, a 1947 Brill TC44 Trackless; the blue one behind it is ConnCo 1257, a 1958 GM TDH4512 |

These two vehicles are primarily parts donors, which is why they are out in the field. PTC 205, which is stored outside the shop, has had some work done to it, and there is a plan to eventually string some wire so that trackless operation can be demonstrated.
The environment from the salt marsh near the barns is hard on the vehicles. Even Yellow Coach #928, which is stored inside, has suffered deterioration to the point where the roof is rotting through.
The buses are unfortunately forgotten step children at the museum, and little attention is paid to their upkeep. |

This is a link to the rest of my album of the Shore Line Trolley Museum, April 28, 2007. There are more than forty photos on several pages. Click on the bus below.
