Speaking of "bombing," that's exactly the case with what passes for the "Noo Yawk" (in name only) football teams. Both are absolute shadows of their former selves, just as with the other sports in town. When walking down the street I see very few people wearing uniforms of either team.

Meanwhile, the basketball and hockey teams are still in the pre-season.

Indeed, it IS indeed the "dark ages" for "Noo Yawk" sports teams, no matter how you slice it. Sad

Now.......how well will the "Eye-landers", "RAN-jers", and "Kan-kkerbokkers" fare, once the 2025-2026 season formerly begins Question

BTW....

I am QUITE sure that Mets (and "Jays" fans) are hopping that, tonight, "doze arrogant, obnoxious, over-paid prima-donna squeakers from da Bronx" get "moidulized" once more, and sent packing........

It's pretty early, but it looks like "doze arrogant, heads-above-the-clouds squeakers from da Bronx" will see an early end to this season after tonight, at the hands of the Blue Jays - and on the "tin men's" own "toif," yet. Mets fans in recent years have been left with two things to sustain them: irony and karma. And there'll be plenty of both, it looks like, after tonight.

UPDATE: "Doze squeakers," true to form, have tied the game (raising the hopes of AYF's while tying everyone else up in knots).

UPDATE #2: Looks like "doze arrogant, haughty, overpaid diva squeakers" may pull yet another rabbit out of a hat - the only hope being the "home team winning every game" rule, which would put the advantage in that case to the Blue Jays (at whose own home "toif" a Game 5 would take place).

As I've said, this is likely to shape up as one of those series where the home team wins every game. Remember, this was played on "doze stuck-up squeakers' " home "toif."

And yes, "hot air." A perfect description of this situation. That's probably why the Blue Jays ran out of steam - it was likely being sucked up to further inflate the heads of those "AYF's."

Just keep hoping that, at SOME point, those arrogant, obnoxious "AYFs" will FINALLY get their due, and the arrogant, smug, overpaid, prima-donna "squeakers" they so shamelessly fawn over, will be sent home with their tails between their legs.

STILL cannot believe what transpired up in "da Bronx" last night.

Sure wouldn't want to be on either the "4" or "D" trains last night......... Sad

"Ding-Dong, The Witch Is Dead!"
-- from The Wizard Of Oz (1939)

Well, "doze squeakers" have been sent packing with their tails very much between their legs - and on their own home "toif," yet - as the Blue Jays took the "Ay-El-Dee-Ess" 3 games to 1. "So much for so much," as Charlie Chan used to say. Once again, watch the "AYF's" tear out whatever hairs are left in them - and serves them right. No doubt the "AYF's" will be skulking more like scurrying rats onto the #4 and D trains tonight. They got their due, all right.

Again, Mets fans have irony and karma on their side, what with what their team went through in this season - and both were on display in this series.

As has been said, I wonder if the demolition of the "foist" Stadium - however revamped it was after 1976 - plus the building of that "fax-SIM-ilee" next door - was a "coyce" on the team (just as the tearing down of Shea Stadium and the opening of Citi Field has been for the Mets to date). Notice after the new "SINO" was first unveiled, they only won one World Championship (in 2009) and played in another (just last year).

Meanwhile in other sports . . .
- The "RAIN-jers' " season is getting off on the bad foot, losing their "foist" of the new season. I did see someone walking around in a "Rangers' " "joisey" during one of my walks the other day.
- The "EYE-landers' " season starts tomorrow in "Pittsboigh."
- Evidently, as the Devils are a "Noo Joisey" team, they don't count in the equation . . .
- So far, so good for the "Ka-nikker-bockers" in the pre-season, let's see how the regular season shapes up come two weeks' hence.
- The Brooklyn Nets' pre-season begins later this week, and the regular season in two weeks.
- And as for the "NYINO" football teams, the less said about them, the better, apparently . . .

Well, I guess that die-hard Yankee fan Eyewitness News (ABC-7) anchor Bill Ritter WON'T be intoning his trademark:

CBS 2 News At 11 (last night)..........

Steve Obermeyer (at Yankee Stadium)..........

".......after tonight's Yankees' defeat, you hear not the sounds of silence, but the sound of defeat........"

Some Jay's fans were in the background, happily celebrating their victory over "doze squeakers from da Bronx", with NONE of the recent hysterical, highly-agitated, obnoxious vehemence as exhibited by a rowdy contingent of rabid "AYFs" outside "The 'BINO'" up in da Bronx".

Game over.........................

This elimination had the effect on "AYF's" comparable to this quote from one of the "Blue Collar Comedians":
