From 1010 WINS.....

NJT is experiencing system-wide delays die to "electrical issues".

Midtown Direct trains re-routed to Hoboken.

Delays onmultiple subway lines.

(gonna be a loooong ssiimerr, folks)

Mr. "Jan-OH!" was talking about having emergency gerators on hand,in case of power issues.

In so many words, he was talking about "upgrades"..........

"..new is where it'sat........we are operating with cars over 50 years old on some lines, and using ufrastructure from the FDR era......"(like that's a BAD thing?) Shocked

Also announced that "R-211s" are now appearing on the "D".

Mention of subway cars on certain lines (and on theSURy) sporting special decorations for the "4th"......

Also..........

Later this steamy afternoon, NJT totally suspended ALL North Jersey Coast Line service between New York and Long Branch.

There was also mention of LIRR delays on the Port Jefferson and Montauk branches............

(Saturday service on all MTA subways, buses, and commuter rail on Friday)

.......wondering if, during these extended heat wave, ii "Mr. Jan-OH!" will be laying blame (again) on "old, outdated equipment", if their are electrical issues on the subways.......

The NJT meltdown goes on.......

Two hour delays on the NEC, due to a stalled (Jersey Arrow") train (with "heat-related issues" at Metuchen

Reports have said that some trains are switching to diesel mode, where possible,

And so, the meltdown continues........ Sad

Continued..........

Due to the earlier thunderstorms, there is no NJT service on several lines.

Construction debris is scattered throughout the Hoboken yards.

I'm beginning to think that someone "up there" has indeed some serious issues with NJT.................. Sad

Maybe it's G-d striking back for the Devils' mediocre "En-Aitch-El" season? (Given how, when they won, it was the hand of the old "Pea-Ess-See-Tee," but when they lost it was the "coyce" of "En-Jay-Tee.")

Last I heard.......

North Jersey Coast Line and M&E are still OOS.

IMHO, NJT never should have electrified the NJCL;there have been more weather-related issues with the line since they eliminated all-diesel servicef rom New York,. Newark, to Long Banch.

Electrification to Bay Head would have been a disaster, with so mach of the route so near the (salt) water, and running through flood-prone area, wwith multiple bridges............

Continued............

NJT has suffered much damage to signals and overhead wires on the affected lines ; removing multiple trees down across the ROW are also a major issue.

So far,I've not heard aboit any of the lines coming back by Monday, except the NJCL............
