Casinos are all the rage, nowadays, in many areas; sadly, horse racing is now "old hat", sad to say. 
1010 WINS report earlier mentioned that:
'.....at one time, Aqueduct was the most modern in the country.....that was a long time ago".....
Times change..........

I've long enjoyed looking at nearside photos of NYCTA "batwing" Fishbowls showing the nearside rear roller sign; for some odd reason, the only pics at nycsubway.org showing PSNJ batwing buses show the offside only.
Quick question:
In general, how many readings did the side roller curtains carry?
How long were the curtains themselves?
Appreciate info, as always...........

Between 40 and 50, on average, depending on depot and allocation of routes (" 'stoa's" Manhattan side signs were all on one universal roll sign, unlike "da Bronx" where each depot had their own set of routes). And of course, the "Tee-Yay." Notice that there seemed to be very little, if any, "batwing" pics emanating from the "Isle of Staten," which would have really strained the roll sign mechanisms on the sides, given how many routes and variants thereof they had. "Regular" SI roll signs, prior to the opening of other depots (namely Yukon and the ill-fated Edgewater), were huge enough.

Oddly, though I well recallpSNJ/TNJ "batwings"for the life of me, I cannot recalltherearings on thereaeexit signs.
(imagine what one of those sid signs would go for today? And, to think of the hundreds that were simply tossed in the dumpster)
IMHO, the "batwing"era was indeed more than memorable......sure miss thosedays.....

Looks like that was on the eve of OTB taking over that building on the south side for the next several years. (That South Brooklyn Savings Bank branch is now Santander.)
But also . . . that that side sign square was painted green . . . looks like an omen for the future of the "batwings," dunnit?

Cannot believe that photo was snapped over 50 years ago.....time flies......all too fast......

New York Omnibus 2969...
This may help you to understand the MaBSOTA destinations signs nomenclature a little better.
Note that the 12 Street and 54 Street Depots are classified as Division 1. Although 12 Street Depot did not have any buses with air conditioning and batwings assigned to them their route 12 and route 14 destination readings were found on these buses based at 54th Street.
The same applies to the 100 Street and 146 Street Depots. Buses assigned to both depots had the readings for routes based at both depots.
Note also that the charts listed tell you how many readings per depot.
Also, the Manhattan based depots, Amsterdam, 100, 146, 132, and 54 had the same number of readings for the side signs. These were all the Manhattan based routes. Were the Bronx depots only had signs for their assigned routes.
Note the order of the readings for 12 and 54 Street Depots. The first is 16 Elmhurts Crosstown followed by 15 Jackson Heights then a NO PASSENGER then it starts in numerical order.
According to GM sales brochures the front destination sign housing had space for 125 readings.
