I know there is an old Steinway/QSC GMC RTS sitting rotting away.

Will there be a QSC Museum Bus at this year's Bus Roadeo? They are the only Ex-NYCDOT Company that does not possess "one" in its scheme at the present time. I'm very upset that they do not have one in their possession. Why not? What's the hold up?

They should save 1 Orion V CNG when the time comes. Its a shame that they couldn't save more buses in general but I would hope that the MTA would take an Orion V CNG and restore it.

Yes, 3865 was originally QSC 293. However, none are saved in its orange and black scheme currently. Here's a question: How did it come to be that a bus was saved for museum such as JBL 3865? GBL 10001? Command 4904? What channels were gone through? What was the process?Who decides what buses are museum buses?
IMO, A QSC bus in its scheme is definitely needed. It is the only company that has been left out.
Another TMC RTS, an Orion V CNG, just something. It would then make the collection complete.
IMO, if 9827 was sent to Zerega, ENY, Hudson Body or to Atlantic Diesel for repairs, they can retire 9827 from service and make it the QSC Museum Bus as its original #396. However, this task would take some time as the bus is not in the greatest of shape.

Better to wait for an ex-QSC bus that is still operating and in good shape. A crappy museum bus will never run and probably just end up in the back of a yard or depot somewhere.
