Just a thought..............

Too bad the desigers/arcitects of the new terminal dis not seek to pay at least SOME tribute to the handsome, streamlined facade of the originall 1950 terminal........... Sad

What, besides cranes now all over the place in the various places and people guarding such sites?

Begs the question of who the construction foreman is - the "old man" character played by the late Tim Conway on The Carol Burnett Show?

OMG...NINE years to complete? Sure glad I'm not working thru that quagmire!

They managed to rebuild the main terminal at LaGuardia Airport in less time than that, while still handling all regular flights, didn't they?

Yeeesh! Shocked Shocked Rolling Eyes

traildrier:

Yup..........NINE years to complete......IF construction stays on schedule.

Watching a news report of Eyewitness News earlier, I could not "get a fix"t anything I ember, in the demolition era.;

Though the termina; was all "updated" by the time I retired in 22002, I was shocked that I could not recognize any area of where they showed inside the building.

A far, far cry from what the terminal oce was, they way I remember it, so long ago.......so much excitement and somuch to see.

Looked more like a shopping malllin an airport complex......... Sad
