Oh, they were routed all right, by the "Phil-ees." There'll be a doubleheader for the "Boulevardiers" tomorrow, on account of the rains.

IMHO, I think that MORE than a few Mets fans will ve MORE than happy to see the end of the 2026 season (FORGET the post season, pal!) Sad

As for the "Boulevardiers From Da Bronx", let's hope they get WHIPPED by "El-Ay" tomorrow. Wink

Too bad we can't go back to the halcyon days of the '86 Mets......... Rolling Eyes

And it's on this note, alas, that Howie Rose is most likely to close his long broadcasting career on.

As they say:

".....time flies by all too quickly......" Sad

Seems llike it is now 100 years ago that the Mets were still playing at Shea, and that "Blueboids" still ruled the #7 line.........

The Mets are CLOBBERING the "Phil-ees", while the now-humbled "Boulevardiers" lwere WHUPPED by the "Dah-jers" in the first game of a double-header, up in da Bronx.

It would seen that the "Spirit Of Flatbush" STILLlives on...... Very Happy

So far, so good . . . the deflated "Boulevardiers" have another game tonight at 7:20 though, so let's see what happens then.

Meanwhile, it's a wonder the "Phil-ees" are even on the scoreboard . . .

Late edition.........

Well, the "Boulevardiers" wound up winning in a classic "squeaker" tonight, up in "da Bronx". Razz

At least, the Mets won earlier, thereby depriving the ever-pompous "AYFs" the chance to trash the Mets........ Wink

Today, the Mets will be playing the "Broo-ers" in "Mill-WALK-key," while the "Boulevardiers" host "Pittsboigh."

So much for crossing one's fingers...........

The Mets are getting CRUSHED by the "Broo-ers", while, it looks like those swell-headed "Boulevardiers" will be chalking yp another victory....and you KNOW that the "AYF" brigade are all ready to go for the jugular, regarding the Mets....... Sad

I was going to have used the term "swollen-headed" - I am reminded, about the team and their equally insufferable "AYF" base, of the ending scene in that Twilight Zone episode, "The Masks."
