And wasn't the situation the absolute "revoice," just a month ago? Talk about a volatile seesaw, now . . .
This weekend's the "foist" of the Subway Series. Pray . . . |

Indeed, it seems as though that ol '"seesaw" mode is back again.
I think Mets fans are indeed crossing their fingers AND toes, hoping the "Amazins" will come through for the Subway Series......pray, pray, indeed.........

Oh, how happy we are tonight.........
The Mets lost to the "YINOs" in the first game of the Subway Series.
The "El-Eye-Double-Are" is now out on strike.
Oh, what joy and rapture.......

As if nothing else to worry about, the "YINO's" victory was achieved on the Mets' home "toif." The "coyce" of Citi Field, ladies and gentlemen . . . but yeah, last night the "AYF's" had their long knives out . . .
One wonders if that track fire around Penn Station the other day was an omen - or, rather, a foreboding - of what was to come for the "El-Eye-Double-Are." |

I was also thinking aboot that track fire at Penn Station being some sort of an evil omen all around.....sadly, I see I was right.
The Mets lost on "home toif" l;ast night....the "El-Eye-Double-Are" went on strike.....well.....NO reason to celebrate, IMHO.......

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze" for Saturday (final edition)..................
Seeing that the homebound #7 trains are crowded with SMILING Mets fans, it does not take much to guess which team WON Game #2 of the "Subway Series" (hint: they're from Queens, and NOT "da Bronx"!)
No happy "YINO" fans tonight, for "soitan".......seems that the "Boulvardiers From Da Bronx" fell short this evening.............

Seems that the "SS" ("Sessaw Syndrome") has become more and more commonplace with "Noo Yawk" baseball, the past several years...........

| Well, whaddaya know, the Mets won in a "squeaker" (what are they now - "doze squeakers from Flushing"?), taking two out of the three "Subway Series" games on their home "toif." Contented cows - er, Amazin's fans, filing out of Citi Field onto #7 trains - and far from gruntled 'AYF's" balloons further deflated. |

Just saw the final score; yep, "doze squeakers from Flushing" REALLY pulled off a NAIL BITER of a "squeaker" for sure, to the undisguised "sour grapes" of the "AYF" brigade.....and, once again, the #7 trains are hammed with HAPPT Mets fans....and our ol' pal from Qieens, "Mr. Met is REALLY grinnin' this sultry afternoon!

Just received my eagerly awaited copy of "LONG ISLAND RAILROAD PORT WASHINGTON BRANCH" by David D. Morrison (thanks to good friend "Mr. MaBSTOA 15" for the "heads-up"on this great book!)
One chapter focus on the Shea Stadium station (one 1964 photo shows the station being re-named, along with the original "Mr. Met", whose head was then QUITE a bit smaller(!!)
Reprint of 1972 flyer for:
"HERE'S COMES THE LIRR'S BULLPEN SPECIAL" ("Mets and Yankees Relief Stars On A Flatcar")
There are also photos of Tug McGraw,"Sparky" Lyle, and others.
EXCELLENT book LOADED with rare and interesting photos (LOTS of MU coverage!)!

"IT'S MOIDUH, I TELL YA!"
The Mets are DECIMATING the Nationals as I type; NO QUESTION which team is gonna win, tonight!
The "AYF" brigase sure ain't liking this, even though "Doze Boulevardiers From Da Bronx" also won tonight; and, with the LIRR strike now over, a VERY good night all round for "Noo Yawk"!
