Recall, also, that DC TRANSIT's conduit streetcar lines outlived those of TARS by roughly 14 years.........

In the 1950s, many retired London double-deckers were sold for further use in Yugoslavia (as well as several other countries)
Remember, also, back in the late 1940s, the group of modern TARS cars that were sold to Vienna, where theyran for a number of years...........

| Sounds like they came to their senses and realized that "streetcars" that don't look like streetcars have little attraction to potential riders. We have a similar situation in Tempe, AZ with the Tempe Streetcar. Ugly as sin like the LRV's and under-utilized. A huge waste of the taxpayer's money. |

Cyberider:
Agreed 100%, and I could not agree more!
Historic streetcars (or, at least, REPLICA streetcars) are, IMHO, very well suited for attracting the tourists that happen to be in a certain area.
A modern LRV is a TOTAL turn-off for me; NO LOVE LOST whatsoever.
Again, these slithering monstricities are NOT "streetcars"!!
