...."BARONS BUS LINES" took its name from the now-defunct "Cleveland Barons" hockey team.
At least the name survives, thanks to the intercity bus company which took its name.....

A shame they have that "BINO" look, though . . . but yeah, carrying a flame for a defunct hockey team in a defunct hockey league . . . |

Would have loved to have seen a "BARON" 4104, 4106, or a "Bison".....or even a "classic era" MCI"!, back in the day

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze"........
Though it's only December, our ol' friend from Queens, "Mr. Met",is already turning his perpetual trademark smile upside down.
Hoid on 1010 WINS that Pete Alonso is now a "Bald-ee-more Bear".
And spring training is still many weeks away......sure looks like it's gonna be ANOTHER volatile "Noo Yawk" baseball season, come '26, for "soitan"...........

Not just him. Closer Edwin Diaz has signed with the "DOD-jers." But yeah, double reasons for "Mr. Met" to be in the dumps. Talk about hitting below the belt . . . |

W.B.:
Indeed, all signs point to a VERY VOLATILE ("seesaw") season for Noo Yawk" baseball in 2026.
And, DON'T FORGET that as, thar the "DAHD-gers" from "El-Ay" are the sworn enemies of "doze arrogant squeakers from da Bronx", the upcoming season should be QUITE interesting, to say the least.
Sure looks like yet another interesting "seesaw" season; ya gotta feel for poor ol' "Mr. Met", for sure..............

| Meanwhile, the hockey season is just as volatile. The "Eye-landers" are the only one of the three area "Noo Yawk" area teams to lead (in their case, "toid" place) in their division (the Devils and Mr. Fischler's "Rain-jers" are near the bottom, though all three teams have winning records thus far - yet yesterday, the "Bloo-shoits" weren't even on the scoreboard, and once again ol' Stan no doubt had to reach for his supply of Maalox). |

Right now, I'm wondering if ol' Stan has stock in the company that makes Maalox(!!)
Something is telling me he's going to be going through a LOT of it, this 2025-2026 season...........

In sports "nooze" . . .
- The "Ka-nikker-bockers" clearly had magic on their side - or, rather, their usual motivational section known as the animated "Globetrotters" - as they beat the Magic in Orlando today.
- All three "Noo Yawk" area hockey teams won today's contests. Viz the "Rain-jers," Mr. Fischler could put away the Maalox for the moment; for "doze Devils from Joisey," the 'hex' of "En-Jay-Tee" was superseded, at least for the time being, by the spirit of the old "Pea-Ess" in their neck o' the woods. |

W.B.:
Hoid this "nooze" on 1010 WINS earlier; see what happens when the "Ka-nikker-bokkers" play an "animated" game?
As to "doze Devils", good to see the ever-hovering spirit of the late, great "Pee-Es" empire was "woikin' " its "magic" Saturday......

| Speaking of "nooze," and not really a surprise, but both "NYINO" football teams lost today. Alas, so did "doze Devils," with the "En-Jay-Tee" "coyce" once again taking hold on their home "toif." |

W.B.:
From what I "hoid" earlier, it would indeed seem that that "NYINO" (aka "The Giants") have had, thus far, a more embarrassing season that the two "Noo Yawk" baseball teams combined, last season.
Well, at least, our ol' friend Stan (Fischler) can (again) go easy on the Maalox.....(!!)

| At least, "doze Nets" won, and won big, in the borough that once housed the "DAHD-gers." |
