Interesting!
For some reason, this is making me think if the Fishbowls rostered by NHBL (those equipped with rear exits) many years ago.
By the mid-70s, these exit doors were taken OOS; the stepwell was plated over, and a double (plastic) seat was onstalled.
By the time this procedure was taking place (why it was even taking place is still a mystery to Your's Truly) the few remaining Old Looks in the NHBL fleet were single-door models, so those buses which had rear doors were never so converted.............

Appreciate this info; I was never aware of this....thanks for the "heads up"!
To be totally honest, Your's Truly had no idea just how many interesting variations there were over the years, during the years of Fishbowl production, until I purchased my copy of "WELCOME ABOARD THE GM NEW LOOK BUS".......I was truly amazed at how much I was NOT aware of!

BTW:
Yeah, I've also noticed that SubChat/BusChat has been pretty "wonky", the past few days (more offline than onlone, for sure)

Any clue as to how many retired "Fordy Fours" are still on "The Isle of Staten", awaiting their final destination?

I don't know if I'll do it today, but I'll have a report some time within the next week as to how many are remaining. It is especially pertinent given rain and even snow in the forecast. |

I indeed look forward (as always!) to your "on the spot" report!
"Noo Yawk" is supposedly going to get perhaps a bit of wet snow before going over to all rain on Tuesday; it will certainly be interesting as to how the "Staten Island Rattlers" ("SIR") perform on slippery rails............

Curious.......
Are there more sets of "R-211s" now operating on the "Bee"?
Are any of the old "veterans" still on the line, or have they now all been replaced?
Appreciate info.....

Just thinking...........
Wondering now how the straphangers who are now riding lines currently using the soon-to-be-retired "Brighton Belle" R-68s will find the new seating arrangement utilized on the replacement "R-211s"................

Speaking of "R-211" seating.........
Wonder how "Es-Eye-Are" commuters over on "The Isle of Staten" are adjusting to the "new and improved" seating on their new "R-211s".........(!!)
