W.B.:
Thanks for the info; much appreciated, as always.
100 buses SOUNDS like a LOT, BUT, when you figure how many hundreds were once to be found in all five boroughs, well. it sure doesn't seem like all that much (still, they lasted far longer than those rostered by "En-Jay-Tee", (including the second-hand RTS [ex-MTA] which I well recall years ago on ACADEMY's "22").........

I forgot another "tony Manhattan" route the "Are-Tee-Ess" plied towards the end: the M42 bus crisscrossing 42d Street. That makes at least two. |

I WELL recall all the "politically correct" nonsense then going on, accusing the MTA of assigning its oldest buses to the poorest areas.
I shudder to think what these complaints would have been like, had these people lived during the last few years of "Soiface".........

At least, in spite of all the 1960 FACL and ST "Jetsons" corralled together at Kingsbridge depot and running many Bronx routes in their last years, there wasn't that hubbub when they were all retired in '73. |

Indeed, indeed.
Even some "Tee-Yay" "Kramdens," towards the end of their run, plied the M-15 - First and Second Avenues route. |

So much for only "old" buses being assigned to routes in the "poorer" neighborhoods.......
