(SEE PREVIOUS POST)

Here is one of the entrances to the "Bee-Em-Tee's" Broad Street station that Your's Truly would use during rough weather days; the NYSE building where I worked from 1979 through 2004 is adjacent on the right............

Here, indeed, is an eerie scene at the BMT's "BOWERY" station; here we have the closed-off entrance to the long-abandoned mezzanine.

It's easy to picture ol' Indiana, trusty bullwhip in hand, mounting these grimy, time-worn stairs, on yet another expedition, albeit an urban one.........

Indeed a rare artifact from a past civilization, this long-abandoned, time-worn booth in the closed mezzanine at the "BOWERY" station stands in mute testimony to a long-lost era.......

If any a "Noo Yawk" subway station should have been associated with Indiana Jones, it would HAVE to be the original "Chamber Of Horrors" (BMT Chambers Street)

This once-grand and opulent station, indeed, would make for one awesome set for a new "Indy" flick, "Indiana Jones And The CHAMBERS of Horrors"........ Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Sneak preview of the sets used for the upcoming Indiana Jones flick, "INDIANA JONES AND THE CAVERNS OF DOOM"........ Wink

(interestingly, this long-abandoned station also "doubled" as "59th Street" in "CROCODILE DUNDEE", 1986)*

No longer in existence, the old lower level IND platform at 42nd Street (PABT) was, for decades, yet another "station" where a certain whip crackin' Mr. Indiana Jones would have indeed sought perilous, high-adreneline adventure!

Once used by rush-hour trains from Queens (until the 1970s), it also served "sports specials" throughout the years, and, in fact, was last used in 1981 by the now-defunct specials to Aqueduct Racetrack............

The design of that lower level, to the opposite of the platform, looked almost like a cousin of the 179th Street terminus of the "Eye-En-Dee's" Jamaica line.

Mention should also be made of the "Eye-En-Dee's" Roosevelt Avenue Terminal station; in essence, a station that never served its intended purpose...........

For Your's Truly, there is just something "uneasy" about vast IND mezzanines with no wall ads (Church Avenue)...............

The sharp-eyed person with an interest in subway history would do well to notice the ceiling over the southbound platform at the IND station at 2nd Avenue.

This is evidence of the provision for the 2nd Avenue Subway (recall the IND's "Second System Plan" of 1929)........
