At least "Dangerfield" #4092 appears to have been shown at least SOME "respect"-so far as "Dangerfields" go (St. George-1978)-------------

In later years, however, the "Dangerfields" weren't the only buses in the "Em-Tee-Yay" fleet that were getting less respect than they deserved......... Sad

Is it my imagination, or were such buses (and "Fishbowls") relatively unscathed in terms of their Staten Island tours of duty, compared with the other boroughs?

WB: No-it is NOT your imagination; recall now how the SIRT's now-"classic" R-44's miraculously escaped being adorned in garish "urban artwork", a a monumental fate which, of course, their subway cousins (regardless of car classes) could not escape. Sad I well recall the graffiti on the SIRT-back then-was pretty much limited to station signs and walls.........but...........then again...........even this blight was miniscule compared to what you then found throughout the subway system--------"NYO"

FINALLY........here's ONE "Dangerfield" (still attired in "Tee-Yay" green!) that seems to have garnered some WELL-DESERVED respect! Very Happy (Roosevelt & Prince-1978)-------

"NO RESPECT!" Sad This telling photo (also dating to 1978) shows several WF "Bluebirds" far away from home rails, up at 161st Street (Yankee Stadium); note how the "frustrated urban artists" even obliterated the car numbers (dark days indeed for the subways)-------------- Sad
