That type grill as on #3215 was definitely associated with first-gen Fishbowls. The finer grill was second-gen and later.

Also, on #3215, the two small ads on the rear side, one above each side of the rear wheels. I wonder when, in 1968-69, the one most furthest back disappeared.

W.B.:

I recall we discussed the rearmost ads awhile ago; I do remember them, but have no clue as to when they disappeared.

I'm taking a guess that, perhaps, it was in the early 1970's?

Virtually no photos of "Tee-Yay" or MaBSTOA buses in the nycsubway.org photo archives show buses displaying these rearmost ads......

On this, I would do no more than guess.......

Fulton & Bond, 1972.

Note the empty small-sized ad frame at the extreme rear of first-generation Fishbowl #507.....

Notice how the large ad rack is centered between the wheels on 1104.

I had noticed that myself; usually, you will see the large side ad rack "off-center", instead of being centered, as was the case with #1104.......

Lexington & 34th St., 1972.

Note here that MaBSTOA #5333 sports no large offside ad frame, but does have a smaller frame towards the rear......

"Tee-Yay" green proudly displayed, here's first generation Fishbowl #60, displaying a perfectly-centered offside (large) ad frame, back in 1969 (also, note empty sign box).....

MaBSTOA #5369 (seen here back in '72), on the offside, has no large ad frame, but does sports a single smaller-sized frame (though displaying no ad)......

Note that (MaBSTOA) #8395 lacks the small-sized rearward ad frame, while #8373 is furnished with one.....
