......while, last evening (Friday), the Mets won, while the Yankees were blanked once again.

This summer has, indeed, truly been a "pendulum swing" for both local teams......

And what better skipper to pilot the Mets than Buck Showalter . . .

But then, besides the trades, many key Yanks who've been bringing home the bacon have been sidelined (or blindsided) by injuries. Rolling Eyes

W.B.:

Agreed.

This past season, players out of commission due to injuries, trades, etc., seem to be in the news virtually every day this season.

In any event, when it comes to both the Mets and the Yankees, the 2022 season has been ANYTHING but "mundane"! Shocked

QUITE a few "nail-bitin' games" for BOTH teams, this year.....

....on this sultry late-August Saturday, the Mets have just won the first game of a double-header, while the Yankees lost once again.

Needless to say, the 2022 baseball season will, indeed, be talked about for quite some time to come*.....

*........Just watched a VERY frustrated Aaron Boone (on Eyewitness News at 6) literally slamming the desk with his hand, as he loudly voiced his frustrations regarding the Yankees' poor performance as of late (they've lost 14 out of their last 18 games)..........obviously, Mr. Boone is hoping for the bloodletting to finally stop. Understandbly, he is NOT a happy camper. Sad

During highlights of today's earlier Mets game, the banner "METS ARE HOT!" was displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Talk about being in an "alternate universe"......

And, without a doubt, Yankee fans are rejoicing tonight that the "Bombers" FINALLY won a game!! Wink

Though they indeed had some less-than-stellar games during the 2022 season, the Amazins' closed out the regular season by sweeping the Nationals, AND, for the first time in decades, cracked the 100-win mark! Wink

They have only three post-season games to play at Citi Field, beginning Friday; let's wish the Amazins' well! Wink

While the Yankees, despite Aaron Judge's 62 homers, fell just one game short of 100 wins. And yet they clinched!

So the Mets won by the skin of their teeth. Cross your fingers for Game 3.

The Yankees too, lasted a bit longer in the playoffs but, alas, in the end likewise fell.

It has been said that without Aaron Judge, the Yanks would have been much worse off. A way difference from 1961 (when Roger Maris had Mantle, Berra, Howard et al. behind him) and 1927 (with Babe Ruth among what was called "Murderers' Row").
