#4500 working the "CULTURE LOOP" service; going by this photo, it sure looks like a brisk business is being done!

When "batwings" were being used on the "Culture Loop" service, at least most photos show that the side signs read "SPECIAL", instead of simply being blank.......

I saw at least one pic among that lot of 'batwinged' M41 runs where the side had a custom made 'M41 Culture Loop' side sign in blue displayed. Explains a lot of why they did not go "whole hog" in updating batwing side signs all the way - them and the 'Tee-Yay'.
The reason why MaBSTOA only got six T6H-5310's (4500-4506) was because 19 of the A/C batwings (8459-8477) were converted for express bus service - which is why the restored 8466 still has those type seats. All were based out of 100th Street depot. M41 and M23X were assigned there. That lot made 25 buses available for express or "culture loop" service.

IMHO, I think that the "Culture Loop" runs, though hardly integral to "main line" operations, was always interesting in itself.
BTW: When did the last Fishbowls run in this service?; I never saw any photos of Flexies on this run, so I'm guessing that only Fishbowls were used.
When exactly did the "Culture Loop" service begin?

3215 ex-Fifth Avenue Coach #5 with air conditioning.
Note that the two curtain roll sign was changed to a single curtain mechanism with the newer upper and lower case letters.

I have seen (and posted) this classic photo several times in this (and other topics) but did not know the "backstory" on the rollsign on this bus; also, did not know that this was an ex-FACCO vehicle!
