This bus started life as a model TDH-5103, serial #001 in 1950 and it went to GM Engineering.
As so such the bus bus made the rounds as a demo, specially for and in the color scheme of San Francisco's Muni.
In 1958 it became a TDH-5105 serial EXP-305 when air conditioning was installed, as well as air suspension.
In this mode it made more rounds as a demo. The paint scheme used on this bus inspired the DC Transit administration to use it for their buses.
It was used by Fifth Avenue Coach on a variety of routes, here we see it on Queens Boulevard ready to turn into Roosevelt Avenue working on the route 15, Jackson Heights Line. The second view shows the rear of the bus in another New York location working for another route
After its demo tours the bus wound up with New Orleans Public Service. By then the rear door was changed to a push out door and the rear side engine vents were changed to the half moon shape.

As a "yout" I grew up six blocks away from the picture. If you look in the background visible is a branch of Manufacturers Hanover Trust. I remember a teacher at JHS 125 telling the class that famed bank robber, Willie Sutton, making a withdrawal without having an account there.
