Another "oddball" PCC in the B&QT fleet was #1000, built by CLARK (this company also built the sleek, lightweight "Bluebird" rapid transit trains for the BMT).
This car was easily recognized, as its overall design, though clearly a PCC, was more angular than the St. Louis-built cars......

Here's another view of B&QT PCC #1000, at the 9th Avenue depot; this depot was unique in that it had two levels, and was also the last operating car house in Brooklyn, when the streetcar last ran in 1956.
It, also, had always been "home base" to the PCC fleet......

Below are two photos of the handsome CLARK-built "BLUEBIRDS".
It had been originally thought that such modern, lightweight equipment (including the ZEPHYR and GREEN HORNET) could be used to modernized the old Brooklyn elevated lines, but, even then, the former BRT el lines were in their twilight (and, like streetcars, found no friend whatsoever in Mayor LaGuardia)........

In this "Gee, I wanna go back in time!" photo from the 1950's, we see an ex-SIRT ME-1 at the BMT's 36th St. yards.
NO SHORTAGE of Old Looks in this timeless scene!

Here at the 36th St. yards, while the camera focuses on a grimy, work-weary BK steeplecab, we also see an OOS MACK in the background......

The same BMT yard, showing a battered, grimy, time-scarred ex-IRT Lo-V work motor, with two-tone blue Flex New Looks in the background......

I call this one: "TWILIGHT OF THE GODS".
In this melancholy scene, a silent group of retired Old Looks await their sad fate at the 36th St. yards, late in 1972.......

36th St. yards, 1973; note the Fishbowls parked in the background.
Two of the buses are still wearing 1960's-era "Tee-Yay"green, and still emblazoned with fancy "NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY" script above the windows.......

This photo snapped at the 39th St. yards shows an elderly retired Lo-V, now relegated to work train status (1969 was also the last year that the remaining Lo-V's ran in revenue service, on the Bronx section of the 3rd Avenue El)
Also, 1969 was a VERY good year for the Mets(!!)
Note the line of Old Looks in the background; in 1969, Old Looks could still be found on some routes, although they were in the last inkling of their twilights.......

A nostalgic glimpse of Old Look action at W. 16th St. and Surf Avenue, way back in 1955.........

Plowing through the sloppy aftermath of a substantial snowfall (could this have been after the infamous 1947 Blizzard?) prewar TWIN #D-1243 slugs it out (note "NO PASSENGERS" reading on the roller curtain).........

Here's a fine "portrait" shot of Old Look #4031 (dated 1955), at the old wooden W. Fifth St. station, once the domain of the streetcar.
Here, we can make out one track, silent testimony to the days when streetcars ruled supreme at this location......

Even then every inch a classic, we see Fishbowl #1, enjoying a brief, and well-deserved respite from daily chores at the Flatbush garage, signed for the "#78 MILL BASIN" (1968)
