Here are samples of at least three builders and operators showing the Big Apple's sights!

Regarding the top photo, of Manhattan Sightseeing Bus Tours #88, the lines of the front door puzzle me. I presume it swings out, as was once described as a "parlor car door." However, I cannot see a vertical line either left or right of the door, and the bottom step would be very high.

I vaguely recall Red & Tan running a sightseeing service, but this photo is still a puzzle. Is it a White?

thanks

With the resolution a bit on the fuzzy side, you can assume that this is a sedan door. Suicide doors on a bus are never heard of.

The top photo is a White with roof-top windows for sightseeing.

206 W. 43rd was the starting point (and ticket office) for this company; Telephone: LOngacre 4-8575/WIsconsin 7-4850

THANKS AGAIN for sharing these AWESOME old images of sightseeing buses of a long-lost era in "Noo Yawk" history!! Very Happy
