In the wake of Greyhound's wholesale abandoning of routes, most particulary across Canada, other carrier's have attempted to replace them, albeit piecemeal...

One of the better carrier's doing this, I recently learned, is the Ontario Northland Railway. You can now travel on them all the way from Ottawa to Winnipeg, albeit with a few changes...but good connections....
