W.B.:

Once again, thanks for taking the time to share this interesting information regarding vintage roll signs; all the more reason why New York bus historians/enthusiasts NEED a DEFINITIVE book of not only MaBSTOA's rich history and equipment, but also, a book on "Tee-Yay"/early MTA bus operations.

Of course, as I've stated many times here in the past, we also NEED a book that further deals with the last years of FACCo. operations, the 1962 strike, AND the Fishbowls.

After all, just like the old double-deckers, the oft-neglected Fishbowls were also "Fifth Avenue buses" in every sense, and STILL have not (IMHO) received the proper attention they deserve, both in photographs and in publication.....

Central Park West & 103rd, 1982.

Seems that #8728's driver was not paying too much attention when setting his sign.......(!!) Shocked

Washington Plaza, 1971.

Note, also, the dapper "Tee-Yay"-type driver (with uniform cap!) at the wheel of "first generation" No. 578; subway buffs (Your's Truly included!) will also enjoy this nostalgic scene, snapped almost 50 years ago........

"THE (BIG) BOYS IN BLUE"; Gun Hill Rd., 1973.

Also, Note train of Museum Lo-V's up above, on a "Farewell to the 3rd Avenue El" fan trip........
