|
|
NewsChannel 4 (NY) reported at 11:00 PM yesterday that an MTA Bus working the Q45 veered off the street at 72nd St. & Calamus Avenue in Maspeth last night. One of the eight passengers on board suffered apparently minor injuries. It appears that the B/O of the LGA-based unit (a 9700-series TMC RTS) had suffered a blackout at the wheel, then the bus drifted out of the lane and ran over some parked cars before making an unplanned visit to the front yard of a nearby home. The news photos looked disturbing, but thank God there were no fatalities or serious injuries. |

Howdy Folks! It's been since BTN that I've posted, but I got the hankering(and the correct web address:o, and a little time) so here I go again!
I don't know if anyone knows what befell the poor driver shortly after the accident, but the dirty rats that rode the bus, rolled him while he was unconcieous in the seat!!! Then later at the hospital, someone stole his leather jacket!! WTH? His car keys were with the jacket and he doesn't live close by.
Well it's good to be back in the bus fanning community and behold the incredible amount of information and knowledge that resides with us! It somtimes is truly amazing.

Jeff,
I second Q65A's motion in welcoming you back to the fold, and we look forward to your valuable input here at BusTalkIII.
I'm sorry to hear of what the driver of 9787 went through post crash - it wasn't enough suffering a health crises - but to be criminally assaulted after the fact has to be inhumane!
Let's hope for this B/O's speedy recovery.
The photos are excellent and certainly show that the RTS came through pretty much unscathed.
