HI guys, A question popped into my head about those destination signs. The internet isn't giving me anything. I know a guy who bought a city transit bus and drove it across the country with the city destination showing. They told about some fella who lived in that city and wondered if that bus would take him back there. Then it occurred to me that there might be a law about that. I know that a bus that is converted to an RV has to show no destination. It cannot show where it is intended to go or show that it is a private coach or some such thing. What do you think? |

I don't know the full legalities of this, either...but I would think that the law, where it does exist, was written to make it clear to passenger's where the bus was headed, and also to prevent unlicensed vehicle's to 'steal' passenger's from licensed ones.
If such laws do exist anyplace, I doubt if they would enforce it against someone just operating an antique bus thru the locality....
I have seen several motorhomes with "Private" on their signs, but I think that may be more for ego or "snob appeal"...like having a private railway car.
I have seen several church owned coaches destined to "Heaven"... |
