4.) Has the most CNG's
5.) Has artics
6.) Has the most artics

9.) Has the most MCI Cruisers
10) Has the least total # of Orions
11.) Has the least # of depots

Good luck!

Bob,

I haven't the foggiest notion as to the answers here - but just glad to see that you're back in the quiz game again!

Thanks Mr. L!
Here are the answers to “Name That Division”:
1.) Has the most buses: Brooklyn Div’n. (1423 buses). Just to show how big the DOB really is, according to figures cited in the 2005 Insider's Guide, if the Brooklyn Div'n. were an independent bus operation, it would be the 9th largest bus fleet in the US (ahead of WMATA and Seattle's King County Metro).
2.) Has the most express routes: Staten Island Div’n. (12 express routes)
3.) Has the most local routes: Brooklyn Div’n. (60 local routes; 33% more local routes than the next competitor, Bronx Div'n.)
4.) Has the most CNG's: Brooklyn Div’n. (331 CNG’s vs. 160 CNG’s in the Bronx Div’n.)
5.) Has artics: Manhattan and Bronx Divisions are the only NYCT divisions currently operating artics (Artics definitely are a MABSTOA and a TA Manhattan Div'n. phenomenon at present, although apparently MTAB has acquired some NYCT artics lately and is running them out of BP Depot in Jamaica.)
6.) Has the most artics: Manhattan Div’n has 351 artics running out of 3 depots (100 St., 126 St., MJQ; 100 St. fleet is 100 % artic)
7.) Has the most RTS's: Brooklyn Div’n. has 815 RTS’s (TMC and Nova), by far the largest RTS fleet in the entire DOB; Flatbush and Ulmer Park are major RTS strongholds, as was East NY until recent arrivals of HEV's.
8.) Has the most HEV's: Brooklyn Div’n. also has the largest fleet of HEV’s (189)
9.) Has the most MCI Cruisers: Not surprisingly (given the large number of express routes) Staten Island Div’n. has a huge fleet of 433 MCI D units (Manhattan and Bronx Divisions have no Cruisers)
10) Has the least total # of Orions: Staten Island Div’n. has the smallest Orion fleet (263 Orion V diesels). This is surprising, given that Orion V’s are seen in local service everywhere “on the island”. Perhaps this is because SI has no Orion VII HEV’s or CNG’s, while all other divisions have HEV’s, CNG’s, or both, in addition to fleets of Orion V’s. (Brooklyn Division boasts a big Orion fleet these days, a remarkable figure when you consider that they have never operated any Orion V diesels, unlike the other 4 divisions.)
11.) Has the least # of depots: Staten Island Div’n. (2 depots; hopefully to be increased to 3 when the long-rumored Charleston Depot finally is built.)
12.) Has the least # of depots located in its home borough: Bronx Div’n. has 2 of its 4 depots geographically located in the borough of Manhattan (MCH, Kingsbridge). Brooklyn has a similar situation: FP is gegraphically located in Queens County.
