Thanks to Vince Syrek, we have this great post war photo of the interior of Chicago Motor Coach's vast Keeler Street Garage on the northwest side of the city.
The picture is a reflection of one decade of GM/Yellow progress from 1936 to 1946 with an assortment of Yellow 720's (double deckers) and TD 4502's 4505's and GM TD 4506's neatly lined up and awaiting their next assignments.
Also pictured below is an exterior shot of the garage which was constructed as a boiler factory in 1923, and converted to a bus facility in 1933.
In addition to being a maintenance and storage depot, Keeler served as the headquarters of the Chicago Motor Coach Co. and its corporate parent, the Omnibus Corporation, which also controlled the Fifth Avenue Coach Co. and other bus companies in New York City.
Chicago Motor Coach became part of CTA in 1952, and CTA used the garage until 1973.
