Too bad 701 was NEVER saved at all....it was GBL's lonely Suburban Green-seated MCI Classic. Worse was that QSC and TCC's MCI Classics never saw the light of day @ MTA Bus.
I know TCC's Classics are still @ Eastchester,but any evidence of QSC's MCI Classics....if ever? |

GBL 702 was the sole Express Classic left as 701 was wrecked. There are no TCC Classics at Eastchester and hasn't been in a few months. |

Yea 701 was totaled but 702 was sent to NIMCO so if its still whole then you might be lucky. |

Oh, thanx for correcting me. I thought it started with 700...LOL
But yeah, 702 was the lone Suburban MCI Classic that Green had, out of only 5 total express buses the company had.
Wow. |

There's any chance for a person to buy an RTS CNG? |

The CNG RTSs will stick around for a bit because they are not in the current auction. Therefore they are not going to NIMCO, at least not just yet. |

I really hope somebody steps up and saves one of the GM Classics at NIMCO. As for MTA Bus, they should have saved one of the two door local Classics as a museum bus. |

IMO, 1602 should be the GMDD Classic that should be saved. I remember riding on that bus a few years ago and that engine was loud.
You heard it from blocks away.
If a 2 doored Classic is saved, it should be either 1171 or 5887.
As you know, 5887 was the last MCI Classic to be in revenue service in NYC and it was former GBL #710. 1171 is an oddity. It was JBL's only 2 doored Classic (Ex-JBL #608).
IMO, JBL made a mistake when deciding on their museum bus. 608 should've been it-not 3865. Not that I'm disliking the TMC that was saved but when deciding on a Museum Bus, you got to think original and unusual.
3865-Ex-MTA Bus 5999 Ex QSC 293. Other than it was a QSC bus, IDK what was original about it.
They even had 3838 in its original scheme a day or 2 after the MTA Takeover sitting by itself in the rear of the yard. That could've been it too.
There are some buses that I don't mind are museum buses:
GBL 10001
LL 3006
NYBS 1502
COMMAND 4904
-----------------------
Triboro-I think it should've been 623 not 621. 623 has more originality to it than 621. There was no Triboro bus that ran in service with 621's scheme.
JBL-should've been 608.
QSC-I think 1 of the Orion V CNGs should've been placed aside. They had 2 buses in their original scheme after the takeover (405 and 407 IICR).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's what you have currently:
LL 3006 MCI Classic
NYBS 1502-GM Suburban Fishbowl
TCC 621-GM New Look Fishbowl
GBL 10001 GMC RTS
CMMD 4904 TMC CNG RTS
JBL 3865 FORMER QSC 293 TMC RTS
QSC 275 TMC RTS |

QSC`s MCI Classics did see the light of day but for a short time. I`ve seen two pics of Ex-QSC Classics under MTA Bus in PR service. |

Well I did guarantee that 7868 was gonna get saved. I don't really care at this point about obtaining a Liberty bus anyway because I simply don't have any way of getting the money to do it. But some day I might be able to get one for myself, I never know where my negotiation methods could land me in terms of obtaining this bus... |

Hey Mark, do you know if 5887 was bought by NIMCO? Same here, I'm gonna be realistic here and just accept that the bus is gone (besides right now I rather save for other things) |

The latest auction results have not been announced. BUT, the last time I saw 5887, it looked pretty sad. |

It's just paint, and any museum bus would most likely get a fresh coat anyway. It's easier to repaint a bus into its original scheme than to be stuck with a bus that's in poor condition. |

A significant number of QSC Classics were bought and remanufactured by DuponTrolley and are now in service in Canada. |
