It makes sense about the pull cord on/in a parlor car coach.
If used with a local company instead of Greyhound, they probably had more stops than the "leave the driving to us" ...

I work in White Plains, NY and the Westchester Bee Line System run artics. I see them every day in downtown White Plains.
